My dear friend Doris: I am so sorry about your loss of Johnny. Seeing how long you and Johnny were married leads me to realize how long we have been friends...more than fifty years. Knowing he is at peace now must be a great consolation to you. Your faith will sustain you. Johnny was such a wonderful person and I appreciate the opportunity to have known him

Johnny was a great colleague and a very helpful friend. He always had a smile and a happy greeting for us that we will forever remember and cherish. He was truly one of Kilgore College's finest! The family will be in our thoughts and prayers today for we wish we could be in attendance at his Visitation and Service. May God give you all His Peace and Comfort in the coming days

Mr. D was a great mentor to me and I'll miss him. I consider both of them "church parents".
Love you!

Wonderful memories from working with Mr. Davenport, Steve Holmes, and Carolyn Ashley Chaney at Kilgore College Media Center in the 70s. He was a great leader, Christian, and most of all friend to all who were honored enough to know him. Out of touch for many years, but I have wonderful memories of him and his sweet wife, Doris. I'm sure Carolyn is celebrating with him in Heaven and helping prepare for their loved ones who will follow.
Doris, you and the family are in my prayers.

I had the pleasure of knowing Mr. and Mrs. Davenport for over 30 years through my dearest friend Claudia. Words cannot say how kind and pleasant Mr. Davenport was. This world finds very few like him. He was a good man and he will be missed. May he rest in peace, Laura and Caden.
