Dorothy Paris

Services for Dorothy Louise Paris, 86, of Liberty City will be 2PM, Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the McCary’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Liberty City with Rev. Charlotte Austin officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Longview.  Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.  Visitation will be six to eight, Friday evening, March 5, 2010 at the funeral home. Mrs. Paris Died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in Kilgore.

Dorothy Louise Black was born, November 2, 1923, in Blooming Grove, Texas to the late William and Eula Morse Black.  During WWII, Dorothy worked in a munitions plant constructing ordinance for the war effort. Post war, Dorothy provided many years of service to nursing homes, and hospitals working in dietary services.  Mrs. Paris was a member of McCary’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Liberty City, and devoted mother and grandmother.  Flower gardening and spending time with her cats was an enjoyment to Mrs. Paris.  She often would share her plants with friends and family. 

Survivors include her children, Kassy Paris of Kilgore, Krissy Paris of Kilgore, Karolyn Haj and husband Armando Garcia of Conroe and Katrina Willis and husband Keith of Kilgore.  Dorothy was blessed with six grandchildren, Susanne Haj of Odessa, Sam and wife Lovinda Haj of Odessa, Summer Haj of Oklahoma City; Jeremy Cain of Longview, Madison Mason and husband Beau of Kilgore, Sarah Willis of Kentucky, Eric Morris and Jake Morris.  Other survivors include eight great grandchildren, Jessica Haj, Erica Haj, and Conner Haj all of Odessa; Beau Mason, Jr. of Kilgore, Aniah Cain of Longview, Kahlen Mason of Kilgore, both of Conroe; two sisters, Billie Stillman of Longview, Verlene Glazer of McKinney and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Paris is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Samuel Christopher Paris, and two brothers, Marlin and Arnold Black.  Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Hearts Way Hospice, 1306 Pine Tree Rd. Longview, Texas 75604.
