Patricia Splawn was born on September 8, 1946, in Shreveport, LA to the late Miller and Doris
Sims. Patricia was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother of three children. When her
children started school, she worked at the Kilgore High School Inn. She also ran the Kilgore
Baseball concession stand for many years with her family, while her boys played ball. Later in
life she spent many years working at Kilgore Wal-Mart as a Department Manager, cashier, and
door greeter. Where she would later retire. She touched the lives of many through her work.
Patricia met the love of her life in grade school, she married Melvin Splawn on December 29,
1963. Over the years they moved several times from Hondo, Herrin and then to South Carolina
making many memories during the summers with their grandchildren. They moved back to East
Texas and enjoyed retirement together. Over the last couple of years, she enjoyed girls days
and spending time on the sidelines of her great grands sporting events.
Mrs. Splawn is proceeded in death by her loving husband Melvin Splawn, parents, son
Michael Splawn, grandson Jeffery Splawn, Morther-in-Law Viola Splawn, brother Ernie Sims,
and Brother-in-Law Sam Splawn.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Kristi Hamilton and husband Will of Kilgore TX, Son Kelly Splawn and Wife Angela of Odessa TX, Sister Linda Weathersby of Arlington TX, Brother-in-law Mike Splawn and wife Gina of Kilgore, TX, Daughter-in-law Leah Splawn of Sulphur Springs TX, Grand-children; Brandi Splawn of Kilgore, TX, Klayton Turlington and wife Ashley of Kilgore, Kassidi Daniel and Husband Justin of Kilgore TX, Madsion Hamilton and Jordan Collins of Temple, Tx, Chelsi Robinovich and husband Max of League City, Texas, Chani Honeycutt of League City, TX, Andrew Splawn and Mackie of Shreveport, LA and Trevor Splawn and Montana of Odessa, TX, Great grandchildren; Sarah, Kolt and Kayde Turlington, Lexi and Kaslynn Daniel, Faithlynn Splawn, Remington Splawn, Asher and Rose Rabinovich, Anderson Narvaez, Haley, Braydon, and Jace Splawn. Very special nieces and nephews; James Phillips and Rhonda of Kilgore TX, Lisa Bloomfield and James of Arlington, TX.
Special thanks to Mildred Ashley of Visiting Angels, Leslie Williams and Ms. Bonita of Marshall Hospice for taking amazing care of our Mother.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 26 from six until eight o’clock in the evening, her Funeral service will be the following day, Saturday, April 27 at eleven o’clock in the morning. All will take place at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Interment will follow at Danville Cemetery.
