Ruth S Larimore passed away peacefully on Oct. 24th, 2019 at The Hospice of East Texas
in Tyler. Ruth was born Aug. 22nd, 1935 in Gregg County to Joseph Andrew Slusser and Pearl Hardy Slusser. She was the fourth of ten children. Ruth graduated from Sabine High School in 1953. She then went on to receive a degree from the Kilgore Junior College business school. Ruth married Willard “Kenneth” Larimore Jr. on Sep. 18th, 1957. Ruth and Ken had four children which they raised in Mason, TX until moving to Richardson, TX in 1969. Ruth’s older brother, Buba loved to tell the story of how one Mother’s Day Ruth did not have any babies and the next Mother’s day she had three. As most of you know, they were not expecting twins with the second birth. Once in Richardson, Ruth worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for general contractors such as Blaylock Construction and Sikes Construction. Ruth had many dear and longtime friends. She was also very involved with the extracurricular activities of her children. During the baseball and football seasons it was not unusual for her to be at a ballpark all day for the boys’ games, often being the official scorekeeper. Ruth was a beautiful seamstress and enjoyed sewing very much. Sewing was her way of relaxing and she would often stay up late into the night sewing. Ruth also loved to cook and was a wonderful cook. I’m sure many of you remember her famous fried pies. Ruth never required much sleep and was always willing to lend a hand and do whatever it took to help out someone in need.
Ruth is survived by her sons Mark Larimore and his wife Pam of La Vernia, John Larimore andhis wife Vicky of Richardson, her daughter Jill Merritt of Richardson. Grandchildren Lindsay and Drew Merritt, Jamie Larimore and Jeffrey Campbell. Great-grandchildren Cooper Merritt, Brooklyn and Cameron. Sisters Paula Clary and Connie Bielfeldt, brother Andy Slusser as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her youngest son Joe, sister Josephine, brothers Buba,
Jitter, Ronnie, Johnny and Doodle Slusser. Yet now, they are all reunited and rejoicing
in the heavens above in the glory of God our Father.
