Adolpho "A.J." Jimenez Luna

Cremation arrangements for Mr. A.J. Luna, 92, of Kilgore are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mr. Luna passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 in Kilgore. A.J. was born on November 25, 1928 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He was the son of the late Jose Galindo Luna and Dionicia Jimenez Luna.

A.J. graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1948. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, played saxophone in the Air Force Band, and retired after 20 years of service; obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. After retirement from the Air Force, A.J. worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his 30 year retirement.

A.J. always stayed musically active, involved with such groups as the Barber Shop Society of America and Rusk County Dulcimers. He is a former member of the Kilgore Lions Club. He was always both an avid Dallas Cowboys and WWE Wrestling fan. A.J. is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ruby Luna, and son, Gerry Luna; one brother and seven sisters.

A.J. is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Ellen Luna of Kilgore; grandchildren, Eva Luna-Wheeler, Jenelle Wallis, Joshua Tankersley, and Katie Hull, and extended family in the Texas Panhandle, New Mexico and California.
