Funeral services for Mrs. Anita Kay Wright Truitt, 71, of Kilgore will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Chandler Street Church of Christ in Kilgore with Mr. Chris Vidacovich and Mr. Lane Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Danville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 29 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Anita passed away at her home surrounded by her family.

Anita Kay Truitt was called home July 25, 2024, into God’seternal glory. She was born November 29, 1952, in Pontiac Michigan to John Wright and Juanita Bell. She moved to Kilgore TX at age 2 and remained there until her passing. She met and married Jarrell Truitt on February 24, 1969. They were married 55 years and had 3 sons. 

 Anita loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Chandler Street Church of Christ. She loved saving animals and people both. Her life has been an inspiration and her warrior spirit in fighting a long hard battle with cancer. Twice she rang the bell,and this time God brought her home. She devoted her life to her sons and husband who are eternally grateful for her love and guidance. There was never a better Mother and Wife put on this Earth. She went ahead to prepare a place for these she loved and left behind. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jarrell Truitt of Kilgore; sons, Tommy Truitt and wife Anita Gail of Kilgore, Steven Truitt and wife Anne of Kilgore, Michael Truitt and wife Tammi of Kilgore; brother, Lewis Wright and wife Linda Kay of Liberty City; sister Linda Barton and husband Randy of Leverett’s Chapel; grandchildren, Arial Franks and husband Jason of Kilgore, Holley Truitt husband Gavin Gee of Austin, Steven Cole Truitt of Kilgore, Cheyenne Coon and husband Chris of Liberty City, Preston Truitt of Liberty City, Caleb Truitt and Cora Davis of Liberty City, Tristin Truitt of Kilgore. Morgan Tirado and husband, Daniel of Longview, Hunter Truitt of Longview, step-grandsons, Mason Jillian, and Dalton Jillian; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, John and Juanita, brother, Kenneth Wayne, sister, Debra Jo Russell. 

Pallbearers will be Preston Truitt, Caleb Truitt, Cole Truitt, Tristin Truitt, Hunter Truitt, and Caden Truitt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gavin Gee, Chris Coon, Jason Franks, and Daniel Tirado.
