Astrid Mireya Benton

Mass of Christian Burial for Astrid Benton, 87 of Marshall will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 3:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marshall, Texas with Rev. Msgr. Zach Kunnakkattuthara as the Celebrant. Interment will immediately follow at Algoma Cemetery North in Marshall, Texas. Astrid completed her earthly journey on October 17, 2023 at her residence.

Astrid was born on August 25, 1936 to the late José Morán Estrada and Ana Virginia Riveria Vásquez. Astrid was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marshall, Texas. She loved crocheting, dancing, animals and spending time in the outdoors and fond memories about growing up in Ecuador. Astrid had a genuine love for her family and God. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lupe Rivera, Eunice Corral and Aida Virginia Morán.

Left to cherish Astrid’s memory are her husband, Ben Benton of Kilgore; sons, Mauricio Corral and wife Gissela of Quito, Ecuador, Diego Corral and wife Corina of Washington, D.C., James Benton of Marshall, Benny Benton and wife Susie of Kilgore; daughter, Ana Virginia Berrones of New Jersey; brothers, Patricio Morán and Edgar Morán; grandchildren, Frank Benton, Michelle Benton, Mitchell Benton, Hannah Benton, David Avecillas and Roger Avecillas and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members in Ecuador.
