Baron Dwayne Thrower, 68, of Kilgore, passed away on March 9, 2025, in Longview, Texas. Born on June 17, 1956, in Kilgore, to Jimmy Wyatt Thrower and Betty Lee McWhorter Thrower. Cremation arrangements for Baron are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. No further services are scheduled at this time.
Baron’s career began as a welder, having started with Baker Tank before concluding his professional journey with Energy Weldfab. His commitment to his work was evident, and even after retiring, he continued to stay active by working part-time at Brookshires in Kilgore.
He was a proud graduate of Kilgore High School, Class of 1974, and he furthered his education at Kilgore College. During his time at Kilgore College, he served as a Rangerette Manager from 1975 to 1976, a position that allowed him to contribute to the spirit and legacy of the college.
Baron was known for his friendly demeanor and enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. His passions included volunteering as an umpire for the K.B.B.A. Little League, which showcased his love for supporting youth sports, and playing golf, a pastime that brought him joy and relaxation. Baron also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson any chance he got. One of his proudest accomplishments was serving as a caregiver for his father, Jimmy Thrower, helping him with errands and sharing meals together.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his father, Jimmy Thrower; his sister, Laurie McDaniel and her husband David; his brother, Terry Thrower and his wife Ann; as well as his nephews, Jacob Mobbs, Chris Thrower, and Jeff Thrower; and his nieces, Samantha Mobbs Landers, Seslea Mobbs Nyvall, and Payton Day Biggs; seven great nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends..
Baron was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Betty Thrower who passed away in 2021.
Baron's legacy of kindness, community involvement, and commitment to family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
