Services for Bessie “Nanny” Griffith will be at a later date by the family. Bessie ended her earthly journey on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Bessie was born on August 28, 1947, in Hemphill to Jimmie and Bedford Duke. She grew up with her five brothers and two sisters farming and enjoying the land. She was a kindhearted and loving woman who loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed coloring, watching criminal minds and spending time with her great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, son, Allen Griffith and wife Elishia Griffith of Wyandotte, OK, daughter, Angel Griffith and TK of Jefferson, grandchildren, Kevin, Keith, Kory, Kyle, Jessica, Tamrine, TJ and wife Tamra, Sabrina, great-grandchildren, Kameron, Kayson, Emma, Ariya, Mila, and sister, Margie Duty.

Nanny was reunited with her grandson, Davon.
