Betsy Lecil Johns-Robertson

February 10, 1936 — January 3, 2024

Betsy Lecil Johns-Robertson, 87, of Kilgore, Texas completed her earthly journey Wednesday, January 3, 2024, with her beloved daughter at her side. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 8 from five until seven o’clock in the evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, January 9 at ten o’clock in the morning at Faith Baptist Church Kilgore, Texas. Burial will immediately follow at Lakeview Cemetery.

Betsy was born on February 10, 1936, in Dallas, Texas and was raised in Mineola, Texas by her loving parents Lecil and Opal Bostick. Betsy met the love of her life in Mineola at the skating rink. It was love at first sight when Betsy’s eyes met Billy Harold Johns’ as he skated across the floor. The two married and started their family of five with two beautiful daughters and one dashing son. The pair remained deeply in love until Billy’s passing in 1988. After mourning her tremendous loss, Betsy rekindled with her first love, her high school sweetheart Paul Robertson. They spent 23 years together before Paul’s passing in 2012. Betsy spent her remaining years loving her beautiful family and dedicating herself in service to her church, Faith Baptist Church in Kilgore, Texas. Over 25 years, she taught junior girls’ class every Sunday and she was the church clerk as long as anyone can remember. Betsy was dedicated to her Lord and Savior, her beloved family, and each of her church family. She loved each Pastor and their family as they were her own. Betsy enjoyed gardening, traveling, learning and was a lifetime member of the PTA. She even took a class in 2023 to become more knowledgeable in her faith and the bible, which she cherished so. She was loving and kind with a sense of humor to keep her young, even at 87 years old she was huge football fan cheering on the Kilgore Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns. She will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her.

In passing Betsy was reunited with her parents Lecil and Opal Bostick, her children Deborah Boles and Billy Lecil “Bubba” Johns, both of her cherished husbands, Billy H. Johns and Paul Robertson and son-in-law Albert Bayless Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Mark Bailey of Harrison, Arkansas., daughter-in-law Sheri Johns of Longview, Tx and son-in-law Steve Boles of Kilgore, Tx; her grandchildren: Jaime Walden of Harrison, Ar., Brian Bailey of Springdale, Ar., Amanda (Matthew) Green of Mountain Home, Ar., Sarah (Richard) Jenkins of Harrison, Ar., Albert “Trey” Bayless III of Wills Point, Tx., Justin (Roxanne) Johns of Longview, Tx., Cory Johns of Longview, Tx.
