Services for Chris Barr, 72 of Tyler will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Powell officiating. Chris completed her earthly journey on Monday, June 28, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.

Mrs. Barr was born on March 10, 1949 in Rosebud, Texas to the late Theodore Lewis Mayer and Ella Pearl Yates. Chris was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Kilgore. Mrs. Barr worked for Marshall True Value, Gregg Home for the Aged and Laird Hospital in Kilgore. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are son, Paul Matthews and wife Lisa of Troup; brothers, Teddy Mayer, Jr. and wife Dorothy of Cameron, Texas and Tony Mayer of Temple, Texas; grandchildren, Rachel Matthews, Brian Moye, Rebecca Kelly, Robert Mayo and Christina Landrum and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members.

Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Neil Barr in 2018.
