David Morgan Dowell

 David Morgan Dowell, 75, of Kilgore passed away at his home in Kilgore on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. David will be laid to rest next to his late wife Patty Dowell with a private family graveside service.

David Morgan Dowell was a devoted father, loving brother, and dedicated son. David was well known for his care of family and service to his friends within the community. He was known for his warm heart through the support of others and his deep compassion for those who truly need it. David was always there to lend a helping hand or empathetic word.

David cared for his family and enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings, especially Sunday dinner. Sunday dinner was a standing tradition in the Dowell family – meals that lasting from midday to late into the evening. The house was filled with his children, grandchildren, and endless laughter.

David was a passionate man who lived and loved with his entire being. He passed peacefully at home and will be laid to rest next to his wife, Patty, surrounded by their family. In David’s mind, the idea is not to live forever, but to create something that will live forever. The pain will pass but the beauty of memories lives forever.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Lee “Patty” Dowell; parents, Donald Morgan Dowell and Norma Naydon Oliver Dowell; brothers, Donald Michael Dowell and Thomas “Tommy” Charles Dowell.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Breanna and Biff Speer of Kilgore; sons and daughters-in-law, Adam and Jennifer Dowell and Marcus and Jamie Dowell all of Kilgore; sister, Connie Dowell of Kilgore; grandchildren, Ashlyn Domorad, Aiden Domorad, Aspyn “AJ” Domorad, Carter Dowell, and Morgan Dowell; several nieces and nephews.
