Deanna Thompson Posey

Deanna Thompson Posey, a cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and devoted friend, peacefully left this world on October 10, 2024, at her home in White Oak, Texas. Born on October 17, 1938, in Kilgore, Texas, to J.R. and Dorothy Thompson, Deanna's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, hard work, and joyous moments spent with family and friends.

 Deanna's early life was rooted in the warmth of her hometown, where she graduated from London High School and went on to earn an associate’s degree from Kilgore College. With this foundation, she paved her way through a career that saw her thrive as a secretary in the oil field, eventually finding a successful path in real estate. Her professionalism and kindness left an enduring mark on those who had the pleasure of working with her.

 Her passions extended beyond her professional life. Deanna had a profound love for horses and a spirited enthusiasm for rodeo, which mirrored her vibrant personality and adventurous spirit. She also found a peaceful joy in art and enjoyed sharing her passion for painting with her family.

 Deanna was a loving mother to her daughter, Joyce Sandoval, and welcomed her bonus sons Kenneth Posey, Perry Collins, Alan Collins, and Lonnie Joe Collins with open arms. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, including Jordon Sandoval, Sara Posey, Reece Posey, Gabriel Lawrence, and several others, all of whom she adored deeply. Deanna is also survived by her dear sister Judy Oller, her brother James Thompson, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda and John Garrett, whose cherished memories will keep her spirit alive in their hearts. Her life was enriched by the laughter and love they brought, and her familial bonds were a source of immense pride and joy.

 While her heart was full of love and family, Deanna also faced loss throughout her life. She grieved the passing of her dear parents, as well as her husband, Eugene Posey, just one year ago, and her brother, Larry Thompson. Each of these losses left indelible marks on her heart, yet she faced each day with unwavering strength and grace.

 A celebration of Deanna's life will take place on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Rader Funeral Home located at 401 North Martin in Kilgore, Texas. Family and friends will gather to honor the wonderful memories created and the legacy she leaves behind. Though she may no longer walk among us, Deanna Thompson Posey's spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who loved her, reminding us of the beauty of family, the joy of shared passions, and the love that never fades.
