Francis Edward Williams

Mr. Francis Edward Williams, 87, of Kilgore, Texas completed his earthly adventure on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Christus Good Shepherd surrounded by his loving family. Francis, known by many as “Fred”, by his childhood nickname “Pody”, or to his work friends he was simply known as “Sue”.

Fred was born January 4, 1937, in Ashland, Alabama to R.V and Verna Williams. Fred was the father of 3 kids. Suzy, David and Adam Williams. He also helped to raise Beth Choate with his wife of 22 years Georgianne Williams who passed away in 1994. Fred loved time with his family, especially his grand kids. Fred met and married the love of his life and best friend, Betty Mullins. With this union, his family grew by two bonus daughters, a bonus son and multiple grandkids.

Fred was a hardworking man, he served in the United States Air Force for eight years. After the military he moved to Texas, where he owned and operated several gas stations with his first wife Georgianne Williams and worked as a maintenance mechanic at Crosby- Lebus for 25 years until his retirement. Not one to sit idly by Fred continued to work after his retirement as an entrepreneur. He opened and operated Fred’s Lounge. While Fred worked hard to provide a beautiful life for his family, he also knew how to play hard. He could often be found outside exploring nature’s beauty, racing with his son, fishing at Lake Caddo, or at NASCAR races. He was an Alabama Crimson Tide fan through and through, Roll Tide!

Left to cherish Fred’s memory are his wife Betty Williams, his brother Bill Williams, his sister Mary Bannister, his son David Williams (Wife Roberta), bonus daughters Shauna Kincade and Chami Henry, his beloved grandchildren; Alex Williams, Taylor Williams, Larry “Keith” Choate, Nicole Perez, Colby Saye, Shelby Henry, Sarah Henry, Kaden Cook, Makenzie Saye, Sharod Kincaid, Deon Kincaid, Bobo Kincaid, Ashten Dodd, and Mikey Dodd. As well as numerous great grandchildren. He is deeply missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

In passing, Fred was reunited with his parents, Brothers Bob and Dan Williams, his son, Adam Franklin Williams, his grandson Zachary Taylor Williams, bonus son, Mike Dodd, and grandparents.

A visitation for Fred will take place at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Saturday June 29, 2024, from nine until ten o’clock in the morning followed immediately by a funeral service to celebrate his life at ten o’clock. His interment will follow at Kilgore Memorial Gardens.
