Glenda Gaye Mccalister Maeger

Services for Mrs. Glenda Gaye McCalister Maeger, 86, of Kilgore will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at two o’clock in the afternoon at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Reverend Daniel Baldwin officiating. Burial will immediately follow the services at Gum Springs Cemetery in Longview, Texas. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from five until seven o’clock in the evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Maeger completed her early journey on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Glenda was born on October 9, 1937, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Ruth Wilson Jones McCalister and Glen McCalister. She graduated from Duncan High School in 1955. Glenda married the love of her life Roy Dale Maeger in 1955. Together they shared almost sixty-nine years of marriage, countless memories and two children together. Mrs. Glenda worked for The State of Texas for numerous years before her retirement. She was a devoted Christian and attended Judson Rd. Church of Christ. Glenda enjoyed spending time with family, singing during Church and sewing. Mrs. Maeger was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, two children, five grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

Glenda was reunited with her parents Ruth and Glen McCalister and her sister Marilyn.
