Guy Louis Hargrave

Memorial services for Guy Hargrave, 75 of Kilgore will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Forest Home Baptist Church in Kilgore with Pastor Wes Jackson officiating. He departed this life on July 11, 2024 in Kilgore surrounded by all his loving family.

Guy Louis Hargrave was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on October 15, 1948 to the late Ben Louis Hargrave and Maevius Marie Vincent of Kilgore. Guy attended Kilgore High School and graduated in 1967. He received his associate’s degree from Kilgore College and went on to study at the University of Houston. While attending university he was drafted to Vietnam. He served proudly in the US Army where he earned numerous awards and metals. He and his brother Kerry owned Hargrave’s appliance Store for over 10 years in downtown Kilgore. For the last 30 years he owned Hargrave’s Appliance Repair in Kilgore, TX and served many people in the local area. He was also co-owner of Precision Excavating with his son-in-law Marcus. He served on the KISD board of trustees for 21 years. Guy took pride in God, his family, friends, and helping as many people as he could. He spent all his time taking care of and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was an amazing father to his four children and many of their close friends. He was a very involved grandfather to his 6 grandchildren as well. He loved to sit in the garden, play games with his grandkids, ride ATVs in the mountains, read, and do just about anything with his family. He was a true patriot and enjoyed politics, he was proud to have served his country.

 He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sister Donna Jean Hargrave, and nephew & niece Jody Harris Pool and Julie Danielle Pool.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his four daughters: Brandye & Wesley Jackson of Cypress, TX, Nikki & Marcus Davis, Crissy & Jordan Allison, Katy & Sarah Allison all of Kilgore, TX. brothers: Vernon Albert & Pat Hargrave of Van, TX, Kerry James & Gail Hargrave of Kilgore, TX. Grandchildren, Brayden & Camden Jackson, Gavin Hargrave & Allye Davis, Lydiah Allison, Scarlett Allison and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
