Harold Lloyd Burkett passed away on December 27, 2024 in Grapevine Texas after a brief illness. Born in Kilgore, Texas on November 20, 1948, Harold was a 1967 graduate of Kilgore High School. 

Harold was a spinner of tales and Jack of many trades for most of his life. In his early years he was a Championship Hunting Dog enthusiast making friends and spinning tales throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. After moving to Grapevine, he worked in retail sales for Nordstrom before starting Pro Shine Shoe Service. Harold was known for his attention to detail and quality of work leading dozens of his clients to loyally follow him for many years. After closing Pro Shine, he returned to an old friend, Cavender’s Boot City in Arlington, and worked for two years before he fully retired. Harold loved two sports, football and baseball, both of which he played from childhood through high school. He was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. From April ~ October he could be found intently watching the Rangers daily. 

Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Chris Burkett; daughter, Mia Burkett; parents Daphne and Lloyd Burkett: and brother Ron Burkett. He is survived by his brother Jerald Burkett (Becky) of Opelika, AL; sister Phyllis Burkett Walker (Don) of Plano, nephews Russell (April) Burkett of Richardson and Ryan Burkett of Grapevine along with their families; and cousin Keith Burkett (Theresa) of Kilgore.

Graveside services will be held at Kilgore Cemetery on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Rader Funeral Home.
