Harold D. Norris

Funeral services for Mr. Harold D. Norris, 88, of Kilgore will be held 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Freeman Pierce officiating. A private burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Tuesday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. Mr. Norris passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, in Kilgore.

Harold was born on February 26, 1936, in Grosebeck, Texas. He was the son of the late Angus J. Norris and Ruby Inez Hunter Norris. Harold graduated from Levertt’s Chapel High School class of 1954. He attended Kilgore College. Harold worked for Davis-Kemp for 21 years and Amoco for 22 years. Harold married Norma Raye Bordelon on November 10, 1956, they were married 58 years until her death in 2014.

Harold was always on the go; he lived a very busy and active life. He loved everything about the lake, boating and all water sports. Harold played golf, tinkered with car motors and anything with an engine. He enjoyed dancing, music, competitive pistol shooting and was an avid reader. Harold loved his family and found so much joy sharing and teaching them all the things he loved to do. Harold will be dearly missed his family and friends.

Harold is survived by his son; Bobby Lynn Norris of Kilgore; daughter and son in-law, Suzanne and Karl Hunter of McKinney, TX; two granddaughters, Lindsey Hunter Bell of Miami, FL and Drew Elizabeth Hunter of Phoenix, AZ.
