Harold Martin Payne Jr., a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and local

business owner, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, at the age of 74.

Born on December 21, 1949, Harold spent his life dedicated to family, hard work, and service to

his community. For over 30 years, he was a respected electrician and the proud owner of a local

business, where he took great pride in providing quality service to his customers. His work ethic

and commitment to excellence made him a trusted figure in his field, and he was known for

always going the extra mile for those he served.


Harold was not only known for his professionalism but also for his infectious smile and vibrant

personality. He had a special way of lighting up any room and was always the life of the party.

His sense of humor and zest for life made him a joy to be around, and he will be remembered

for his ability to make others feel welcome, valued, and appreciated.

When his health allowed, Harold enjoyed the freedom and adventure of riding motorcycles with

his friends, Steve and Patty Tanner. This shared passion brought him much joy and

camaraderie, and he treasured the memories of those rides.


Harold is survived by his two children, Wesley O. Payne and his wife Edith of Kilgore, and Chad

E. Payne of McKinney; his sisters, Karen Payne Tais and her husband Greg of Houston, and

Cheryl Payne and her husband Jack of Houston. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and

eight great-grandchildren, as well as many cherished friends and loved ones.


Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Dana Payne; his sisters, Debbie Payne and Cindy

Lewis; his parents, Harold and Barbara Payne; and his grandparents, Wesley and Estelle

Gibson.


A man of integrity, humor, and deep compassion, Harold's legacy will live on through the lasting

impact he made on those around him. His dedication to his family, his community, and his work

will forever be remembered.


The family will be holding a private memorial to honor Harold’s life.
