Hazel Lavern Isaac Johnson

Hazel Lavern Isaac Johnson, 84, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2025, at Buckner Westminster Memory Care in Longview TX.

 She was born on September 27, 1940, in Gladewater TX to Mary Lou and Jewel Cleo Isaac. She attended Sabine High School (Liberty City) and Kilgore College. She married the love of her life Robert “Bob" W Johnson in 1956. They spent 65 years together in marriage while they raised their daughters. She was a dedicated wife and mother.

 Hazel was a loving generous person, devoted to her family and friends and always had a welcoming home. She also worked outside the home when her youngest started kindergarten through retirement. She touched the hearts of so many along her life’s journey.

 In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bob, sister Eva Choice, brother-in-law Tully Choice, nephews Steven, Michael and Rodney Choice and son-in-law Cliff Packer.

 Survivors include her four daughters and their husbands, Teresa Packer of Kilgore TX, Donna and Steve VanMeter of Liberty City TX, Regina and Tracy Traxler of Casper WY, Paula and Robert Ham of Gladewater TX. Six grandchildren: Dustin Packer (Christine) of Virginia Beach VA, Nickolaus (Caitlyn) VanMeter of Kilgore TX, Hayden Traxler of Casper WY, Reagan (Isabella) Ham of Gilmer TX, Merritt Ham of Gladewater, TX, Olivia (Austin) Turner of Monterey CA. Eight Great-Grandchildren: Owen and Ellis Packer, Kenslea and Kyler Fickett,  Emory, Anasyn and Jada VanMeter, Liam Ham and a very special niece Patsy Choice Alexander of Marshall, Texas and cousins Barbara Kennedy and Doris Barber. 

 Our hearts are saddened by the loss of our dear Mother/Nana. She will be forever loved and missed. 

 A graveside service will be held at Danville Cemetery in Kilgore, Texas on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Barry Metz officiating. 

 For those who wish to remember Hazel in a special way, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buckner Westminster Ministries 2201 Horseshoe Lane, Longview, Texas 75605. 

 Buckner Westminster provided a faith-based ministry, a peaceful home along with loving and kind people to care for Hazel during the past three years.
