Hope Castaneda Romas

Visitation for Hope Castaneda Romas, 76 of Kilgore will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore from five until seven o’clock in the afternoon. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home. Hope completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at her home in Kilgore surrounded by her loving family.

Hope was born on September 14, 1947, in Three Rivers, Texas to Josefa Benavides and Martin Castaneda. She was the first women welder at Neck Over Trailer in Troup, Texas for numerous years before her retirement. Hope was a dedicated Christian and attended many local churches. She enjoyed going shopping, especially bargain hunting at garage sales. Hope’s favorite memories were spent with family, they were her source of happiness. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Hope will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Hope is proceeded in death by her parents Josefa and Martin Castaneda and siblings Larry Castaneda, Moe Castaneda, Fidel Castaneda, Fideo Castaneda, Pete Castaneda, Martin Castaneda, Jr., Sally Castaneda, Cindy Castaneda, Oralia Castaneda, and Rosa Castaneda

Left to cherish her life and memory is her children Mike Gray, Lonnie Gray, Barbara Martinez, and Angie Gaona; siblings Lawrence Castaneda, Paul Castaneda, Merced Castaneda, and Joe Castaneda; grandchildren Luis Martinez, Miguel Martinez, Pedrito Razo, Xaviar Gaona, Aaliyah Gaona, Michael Gray, Dustin Gray, and Hayley Gray; great-grandchildren Giovonie Martinez, Olivia Martinez, Gemini Martinez, Yessika Martinez, Layla Martinez, Miguel Gray and Matteo Gaona; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
