Jackie L. Ford

Jackie L. Ford, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the age of 79 in Tyler, Texas, surrounded by his devoted family. Born on March 14, 1945, in Llano, Texas to John D. Ford and Kathryn E. Osborne, 

Jackie honorably served in the United States Army for years, embodying the values of dedication and resilience. His military service was a testament to his commitment to his country and shaped a character that was both fun-loving and caring.

He had a passion for life that extended beyond his military career, enjoying hobbies such as fishing, exploring the beauty of country roads, and nurturing his deep faith in Jesus Christ. Jackie’s zest for life was contagious, and he shared countless memories filled with joy and laughter with those fortunate enough to know him.

Jackie is survived by his son, Mark A. Ford of Longview, daughter-in-law, Amber Rose Ford of Longview, sisters, Judy Gibson of Longview and Edith Cates of Ft. Collins, Colorado; brothers, David Ford and wife Karen of Kilgore, Alan Keith Ford and wife Candy of Kilgore, and Clyde Russell Ford and wife Bettie of Hallsville; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Jasmine Avis, Sean Avis, and Addison Melton as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. Ford and Kathryn E. Osborne, his wife Roswitha Freier Ford, and brothers Roy Dean Ford, Tommy Lee Ford, and William "Billy" Edward Ford.

A memorial service to honor Jackie's legacy will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Mr. Michael Johnson officiating.

Jackie L. Ford will be remembered for his unwavering love, his generous spirit, and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who knew him.
