Jeanie “Bea” Nichols Maples

A Celebration of Life for Jeanie “Bea” Nichols Maples, 59, of Kilgore, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Interment will follow in the Danville Cemetery. Jeanie Bea completed her earthly journey in Longview on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.

Jeanie Bea was born on November 20, 1962, in Kilgore to Smith Eugene Nichols, Sr. and Opal Novell Nichols. She was a member of the Kilgore High School Class of 1980. Jeanie Bea graduated from Vista College with a nursing certificate. Jeanie Bea liked to stay busy and was always doing something. She enjoyed arts & crafts, fishing, camping, and writing poetry and watching true crime shows. Jeanie Bea had a true “green thumb” and could grow anything in her garden. Bea loved animals, her pets were her “furbabies” and were just part of the family. Jeanie Bea’s family was the source of her strength and spending time with them was when she was happiest. She never met a stranger and could always be depended on for a big hug, huge smile and lots of laughter.

Jeanie Bea was reunited with her father Smith Eugene Nichols, Sr., mother Opal Novell Nichols Bingham, daughter Brittnie Bingham, and brother Eugene Nichols, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 21 years, Keith Maples of Kilgore; children, Keith Smith (amber) of Jefferson, Jeffrey Smith of Longview, Joe Smith of Longview, Mattie Feely (Dakota) of Longview; 18 grandchildren; 2 grand-furbabies; sister, Beth Ann Tyner of Washington; dad, Rev. Frank Bingham of Longview. Also, left to carry on her legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other loving family members.
