Liberty City

Jimmy Clayton Adams, 73, was born on February 9, 1951, in Kilgore Texas, and passed away peacefully at his home on October 19, 2024. A dedicated individual, Jimmy worked for Texas Eastman as a Lab Analyst for 32 years, contributing significantly to his field and establishing a legacy of professionalism and commitment. Having lived in the Kilgore and Liberty City area since 1979, Jimmy was deeply rooted in his community and made a lasting impact on those around him.

He was a longtime member of Kilgore Missionary Baptist Church, where his father served as pastor and where Jimmy took on the role of song leader. He eventually became a member of Grace Creek Church in Longview, continuing his spiritual journey and engagement with the church community. Jimmy was known for his loving and joyful spirit, particularly when it came to his family. He cherished the time spent with his wife, Patricia "Pat" Adams of Liberty City, and took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Patricia "Pat" Adams: son, Justin Adams, and daughter-in-law Teresa and their son Jude, and son, Jace and his sons Jennings and Whitten Adams. Jimmy's life was also enriched by the companionship of his brothers, Charles Thompson and his wife Jeanie, and Joe Adams and his wife Sharon. He leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who will remember him fondly. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Reverend Jim and Evelyn Adams, and his brother, Jason Adams.

The family wishes to honor his memory with a memorial service to be held at Kilgore Missionary Baptist Church in Kilgore sometime in December with the date and time to be announced at a later date, with arrangements for cremation being managed by Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
