Joe C. Modisette

Joe C. Modisette, born on October 23, 1941, in Lufkin, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home in Kilgore on September 9, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a full and vibrant life, guided by his faith as a devoted member of Life Church of Longview, where he found great joy in serving the Lord.

A proud graduate of Leverett's Chapel High School, class of 1960, Joe dedicated thirty-one years of his career to East Texas Saltwater Disposal, where he was respected by colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, Joe embraced a range of hobbies that brought him fulfillment and happiness. He cherished playing golf, fishing, hunting, gardening, and cooking, with a special fondness for frying fish. These pursuits often provided him with opportunities to connect with nature and his loved ones.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Debbie Modisette of Kilgore, and his sons, Kevin Modisette and wife Leah of Liberty City, Dennis Modisette and wife Jackie of White Oak, and Allen Modisette and wife Kris of Liberty City. He also leaves behind his brother, C.W. Modisette of Kilgore, and his sister, Lawana Sistrunk, and her husband Dale of Kilgore. Joe was proud of his family, which includes six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, and two great-nephews from Juneau, Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Vera Brown Modisette, and two sisters, Ellen Whittington and Estelle Seibert.

A visitation will be held in honor of Joe on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 P.M. at Rader Funeral Home 401 N Martin St, Kilgore, TX. Following this, a funeral service will take place at Life Church of Longview, located at 5533 West Loop 281, Longview, TX, on Thursday, September 12, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM with burial to follow at the Pirtle Cemetery in the Pirtle Community.
