John "Dog" Loftin

John Edward “Dog” Loftin, 59, of Kilgore, Texas completed his earthly adventure on April 9, 2024, in Mauriceville, Texas. On February 7, 1965, John was born to Darryl and Sofie Loftin in Sacramento, California. He was a proud graduate of John Kennedy High School and continued his education through Atwood Oceanics Intelligent and always ready to help anyone in need, Dog found his place in offshore drilling, making his way to Installation Offshore Manager. This was the perfect fit, allowing him to excel in his job and ensure his co-workers were taken care of and safe.

Halloween of 98’ Dog married the love of his life and best friend, Desiree Hughes. He was thrilled to gain a precious daughter from their union. They shared countless memories which they cherish and hold dear to their hearts. Dog was a phenomenal dad to his children; each gifted with beautiful memories of his love for them. Dog brought joy and fun to every day, he was bright and energetic, and his life was lived to its fullest. He was a treasure, his big, kind heart always open to helping those in need. His laugh will forever reverberate in his family’s hearts as a lifelong reminder to love and never stop finding humor, even during the dark days. He is profoundly missed by all who had the delight of knowing him.

Dog is survived by his wife Desiree, daughters; Taylor Kimura and Chelly Reynolds, son’s Cody Loftin and Danny Meador, his grandchildren Willow and Buddy Robinson, his brother Jim and Paula Loftin, other loving family members and many dear friends. In passing, Dog was reunited with his parents and grandparents.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 16 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm followed by a 2:00 pm funeral service, all will take place at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home Kilgore.
