Funeral services for John Vincent Butts, 46, of Kilgore will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Peatown Church with Rev. Bill Blanks officiating. Burial will follow in the Peatown Cemetery. The family will receive friends before services from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Peatown Church. John passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

John Vincent Butts was born in Longview, Texas on July 23, 1976. He left his earthly family on Sunday morning, January 29, 2023, at the age of 46. He lived all his life in the Gregg County area and attended Kilgore schools throughout, graduating in 1995. He was an active member of FFA and loved music, singing, playing guitar, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. John was an employee of Complete Pipe, formerly known as Pipe Maintenance, where he enjoyed his job and coworkers.

John leaves behind a family that loved him, including his parents Sandra and George Butts, his children Emma and Gavin Butts, and Cora Davis and their mother Amy. Also surviving him is his brother Shannon Thompson, his wife Allyson, and children Cole and wife Ashlyn, Spencer, and Jake Thompson, and his sister Lacy Latham, her husband Tommy, and children Lillie and Layla Latham.

John was preceded in death by his mother Elene Manker Butts and his brother George Morris Butts, Jr., his grandparents Ermaline and Haynes Manker and Lucille and J.A. “Buster” Butts, Jr., along with many other family members and friends.
