Judy Taylor Hill was born on May 13, 1940, in Pelican Louisiana to the late Paul and Mary Taylor. Judy grew up in and around Dolet Hills and graduated from Pelican High School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. After moving to Shreveport where her children were born, she continued being active in church making sure her children were always attending. She served as a Sunday School teacher as well as working as a music secretary in the church office. She grew up in a family that actively sang and played hymns and gospel songs. She learned to play the piano by reading shape notes the old fashion way. Music always spoke to her heart very deeply. Her life revolved around the children, grandchildren, and her husband Billy Hill. After his job transferred the family to Texas and the children being grown she began pursuing her passion which was decorating and styling homes with "her look" that became well known in the antique and decorating world.
Some of her abilities came from her mother who also creative. The pieces of furniture and other items she used in her home and all the shows she did were very primitive because that is what she grew up with on the farm. She was featured in magazines as well as the antique shows she and her husband attended. With every vignette she created she always said it came from her heart. Unlike formally schooled designers she never knew what she was going to create until she started because again it came from her heart. Out of all of this she always gave God credit for everything knowing it was a gift from him. Judy and her husband never doubted where success in anything you pursue comes from. Her church and worshiping the Lord was more important than anything.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Paul Taylor and brother Kenneth Taylor.
