Karl Allen Bolt

Karl Allen Bolt, 66, of Houston formerly of Kilgore, completed his earthly journey on Friday, October 28, 2022, in Houston. A memorial graveside service, under the direction of Rader funeral Home in Kilgore, will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore City Cemetery, with Rev. David Hampton officiating.

Karl was born on June 12, 1956, in Kilgore to Joe A. and Margaret Legvold Bolt. He was a member of the Kilgore High School Class of 1974. He attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos before moving to Dallas to work. He then moved to Houston where he remained until his passing.

Karl was an avid Astros fan. He was enormously proud that they are in the World Series. Karl loved animals and would take in and care for as many strays as he could. When not working or caring for his animals, he enjoyed all genres of music and going to concerts.

Karl was reunited with his father and stepmother, Joe A. and Doris Bolt, his mother, Margaret Legvold Bolt Witz, and his grandparents, Luther and Bernice Bolt.

Karl is cherished by his sister, Laura Bolt Smith and her husband Paul of Houston; nephews, Greg Smith and his wife Jennifer, Jeff Smith and his wife Susie all of Houston; cousins, Larry Long of Kilgore, Allen Long and his wife Tina of Kilgore, Cheryl Bolt Parker and her husband Frank E. Parker, Jr. of Dallas, Cynthia Bolt and her husband Avery Bengston of Austin, Elaine Allmand Pickett and her husband Steve of Tyler, Eddie Hill of Dallas, and Brad Bolt of Kilgore. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous great-nieces and nephews, friends and other loving family members.
