Kenneth Wiehoff, 77, of Kilgore, completed his earthly journey on Friday, January 20, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 2p until 4p at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.


Kenneth was born on October 25, 1945, in St. Cloud, MN, to Charles and Veronica Wiehoff. Kenneth faithfully served his country in the United States Army. While he was stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Hildegard Jakob. They married on February 18, 1966, and spent the next 56 years making many loving and happy memories together. Kenneth retired from the U.S. Department of Labor.


Kenneth enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, boating anything that involved being outside. Kenneth’s family was the source of his strength. His children and grandchildren were the delight of his life, and he enjoyed spending every minute that he could with them, especially when it came to taking them camping, fishing and hunting.


Kenneth was reunited with his parents, 7 siblings and a granddaughter Brandi Wiehoff.


Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Hildegard Wiehoff of Kilgore; children, Tom Wiehoff of South Dakota, Anette Hopkins (Doc) of Kilgore; grandchildren, Katrina Almond (Dustin) of Gilmer, Kourtney Nelsen (Nick) of Colorado, Kayla Peacock of Bogota, Josh Hopkins of Colorado, Cole Hopkins (Kayla) of Colorado, Kyle Dean; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Jameson, Hailee, Finley, Natalie, Kenneth, Brooklyn;1 brother and 1 sister. Also, left to carry on his legacy are numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family members.


The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and heart-felt appreciation to Heart to Heart Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Kenneth during the final days of his earthly journey.
