Kevin passed away at his home in San Antonio on Friday, September 13, 2024.

Kevin was born May 31, 1957, at the time his parents Jackie and Carlene lived in Levelland, Texas, and the family was later joined by his brothers Phil and Jack. The family moved to Kilgore, Texas where Kevin graduated from Kilgore High School in 1975 and attended Kilgore College where he obtained a degree in drafting. He started his career in the oil and gas industry at Johnston in Kilgore and later worked at Redman Supply Company. He was so overjoyed when his son Joe Don was born and they shared a love for Texas Tech and had someone to be his wingman. In 1985 he married the light of his world Patti, she was his muse and would follow her to the end of the world. Then came Lacy, she was definitely his mini-me, they shared many of the same passions. In 2005 a grandson, Austin was added to the family, and again he had someone to educate about music, BBQ and his many other passions. One of those passions was for music, which was evident in his album and guitar collection. One thing he always reminded us of was that to truly appreciate the music you had to listen with the correct equipment. Within the past few years one of his lifelong dreams was made possible by his daughter and was able to travel to see his favorite artist Robbie Robertson, a former member of “The Band” in concert. Kevin was dedicated to all things BBQ, whether that be cooking a steak or smoking a brisket. One year he went on a quest and took a vacation where the sole purpose was to eat at as many BBQ places as possible in Texas. By far photography was Kevin’s calling, the pictures he took were part of his soul, they always told a story and evoked an emotion. His photographs made the cover of many aviation journals and placed in the top ranks of many contests. In each photo you could see his dedication to capturing the beauty of life through photography and painted an incredible picture of the finer details of life. This past month, Kevin embarked on a bucket list trip, for 18 days he traveled to attend as many Air Shows and museums as humanly possible while taking as many pictures along the way to tell the story of his journey. Kevin lived a life filled with passion, love, and adventure and left us with a story that will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Fly high in the clouds.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Patti Lacy Brown of San Antonio; son, Joe Brown of Longview; daughter, Lacy Brown of San Antonio; grandson, Austin Brown of Longview; brothers, Jack Brown (Tressa) of Liberty City, and Phillip Brown (Shelia) of St. Augustine, FL Several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie Brown and Carlene Peacock Brown.
