Kris Moore

January 2, 1970 — September 16, 2023

Kris Warren Moore rode his beloved Harley onto the streets of gold on September 16th, 2023. He was born on January 2nd, 1970, in Longview to Reverend Kenneth and Ann Moore. He married his best friend, Linda, and became a stepdad before expanding their family with two more daughters.

Kris had numerous interests and talents, but one of his standout abilities was making his guitar sing beautifully. He spent many weekends playing and listening to his favorite bands. He loved illuminating every room with his brightest flashlights and laser pointers. He had a deep love for all things tech, from computers to coding and scanning, he did it all. Kris thrived on the thrill of riding his Harley and, of course, keeping it in pristine condition. A perfect afternoon for him was spent working on and polishing his beloved bike. He was an artist through and through, viewing the world in more layers, notes, and colors than the average person. He shared his unique perspective through his photography, passing down his love for art to his daughters, who now honor his legacy. His daughters grew up to marry a musician and a photographer/videographer, both inspired by their dad.

Kris had perfected the art of enthusiasm, always taking it to the next level. For instance, when the Snuggie was first introduced, Kris bought enough for every corner of the house, along with extras to give away as gifts. Another time, when a bird landed on the kids playing outside, he took it in, leading to the creation of "Squat and Gobble Aviaries," a business he and Linda started selling hand-fed baby lovebirds. At one point, they had over one hundred lovebirds! Kris admired Steve Irwin, which led him to create his own hilarious version of the show, sending it to America's Funniest Home Videos. Those he loved were also touched by his enthusiastic nature. When his daughter showed an interest in photography at the age of 13, he bought her state-of-the-art camera equipment. His youngest daughter wanted a phone, so she received the newest iPhone at the age of seven. Kris was all in if you mentioned anything you were interested in. He listened, loved, and lived with enthusiasm. You never knew what new gadget or creation Kris would be working on. There were drones, cannons, wood burning, horns, go-karts, potato launchers, handmade guitars, and much more. He excelled at making people feel happy through his art, music, practical jokes, and silly nature.

Kris was incredibly generous, but his greatest gift was inspiring others to fully embrace life, have fun, and boldly be themselves. We were fortunate to have Kris loaned to us during this lifetime, and we are better for it. He made the world a more musical, colorful, and fun place to be.

Kris now joins his big brother Kevin in heaven, and we have no doubt they are putting on one heck of a rock show for the others he is joining: his dad, Kenneth; Kris and Kevin were his absolute pride and joy. His maternal grandparents JG and Nadine London, his paternal grandfather Kenneth Moore I, and many friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his precious beloved mother, Ann London Moore-Burk, and her husband, Vernon Burk; daughter and son-in-law, Sydney and Quintin Stauts; daughter and son-in-law, Morgan and Tj Ingram; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Summer and Jesse Scott; nephews, Kasey and Kaleb Moore; aunt and uncle, Kay and Glenn Richardson; aunt and uncle, Claire and Jack London; cousins, Stacey Kirkindoll and Neil Richardson; and his four-legged daughter, Hazel. Best friends include Linda Moore, Adam, and Leslie, along with countless friends who he considered family.

The family looks forward to sharing memories of Kris together with his friends on Friday evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and celebrating his life on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Judson Community Baptist Church in Longview with Dr. Keith Rothra officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery after his celebration.
