Kylene passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 in Longview.

Kylene was born March 23, 1952, in Kilgore, Texas to J.D. and Virginia Hobbs. She was a fighter and the strongest woman you could ever know. In prior years she was a high school twirler, bowler, sun bather and avid picture taker. Kylene was a beloved Mimi, Momo, Meany and Aunt Lolly. She loved her family with all her heart, our Saturday after Thanksgiving tradition with all the family, Christmas Eve-Eve with her grandson, Hunter and loved to have a good time (yolo) no matter what. Some of her favorite things were butterflies, fireworks, Friday night football games, baseball, Dr. Pepper and bear claws, Syfy movies, collecting shot glasses from everywhere she traveled and, of course, Elvis Presley.

In the early nineties she made a trip to Silverton, Co and fell in love with the place and in 1995 opened a bar and restaurant called Spats, which she operated for 3 summers. She continued going to her beautiful mountains each summer and met her husband, Michael while working there. She went to Colorado each summer for over 20 years. When not in the mountains she was back home in Kilgore working as a tax professional for over 25 years at H & R Block. She often expressed how much she loved her H & R Block family as well as her clients. It is understood that Kylene was the mastermind behind the infamous Spank Me Sistas who are always more than willing to perform for any special occasion or event. The Sistas are an amazing group of friends who support each other through thick and thin.

Kylene was proceeded in death by her husband, Michael Gerstner in 2009, father, J.D. Hobbs in 1966, mother, Virginia Hobbs Snider in 2012, siblings Jay Dee Hobbs in 1950, Jarmon Hobbs in 2005 and Conan Hobbs in 2014.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Shay McNeese Cherry (Mark Domogalla) of Kilgore, Danae Hobbs Plotner of Garland; grandchildren Jordan Abdiche (Karim) of The Colony, Spencer Cherry of Dallas, Hunter Cherry (Sierra) of Kilgore and Katherine Domogalla of Longview and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends.
