Laverne Mcdonald Foster

Services for LaVerne Foster, 88, of Kilgore will be on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with Kevin Moyers officiating. Burial will follow the service at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Foster passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 in Kilgore.

LaVerne was born on October 4, 1934 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to the late Curtis and Dorothy McDonald. Mrs. Foster worked for Laird Hospital for many years and later worked as a caregiver. She was a member of Joy Baptist Church and lived at Howell Lake for 40 years prior to moving to Kilgore in 2018. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Dorothy McDonald; husbands, Smead Brian, Henry Jones and Truman Foster; daughter, Julia Tindall; sons, James Roy Brian and Kenneth Darrell Brian; sister, Lavelle Cochran and great granddaughter, Jordyn Brian.

She is survived by her daughter, Carla Reaves and husband Jerry of Kilgore; sons, Stanley Brian of Kilgore, Jackie Foster and wife Perrie of Frankston and Ricky Foster and wife Becky of Whitehouse; brothers, Roy McDonald and wife Ina Mae of Natchitoches, Louisiana and Rev. Jimmy McDonald of Provencal, Louisiana; seven grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members.
