Lois Faye Thomas

Lois Faye Russell Thomas, 76, of Kilgore, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was born in Kilgore, TX on July 7, 1948, to Bill and Evelyn Russell. Lois was a lifelong resident of Kilgore, TX, a devout Christian, and a member of First Baptist Church of Kilgore. She was a graduate of Texas Women's College and received her master’s degree in Speech Therapy from Stephen F. Austin University. Lois worked for Region 7 as a speech therapist in numerous East Texas area schools before retiring. She was very passionate about her work helping children with speech delays learn to communicate clearly.

 Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Linda, and her grandparents James and Ovie Shuttlesworths who raised the twin girls after the death of their mother due to complications from childbirth. 

 Lois is survived by her husband Robert Thomas of Kilgore, TX, cousins Debbie Kerkiainen of Aurora, CO, and Ronnie Hunt of Park City, UT, stepsons Glyn Thomas and wife Tami of Tomball, TX, Mark Thomas and wife Kelly of White Oak, TX, step-granddaughters Tifani Coleman and husband Bob of Tomball, TX, Haley Zillman and husband Justin of White Oak, TX, great-granddaughters Haven Coleman, Morrigan Coleman, and Emma Zillman, numerous other cousins, and her beloved chihuahua Bitsy.

 Services for Lois Thomas will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Kilgore, TX with Dr. Glenn Young officiating. Immediately following the service, the family would like to invite friends to gather in the church foyer for a time of visitation. Family and close friends who wish to attend will gather later in the day at Union Grove Cemetery in Troup, TX.
