Maebeth Avant

Maebeth Avant, 95, of Kilgore, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Danville Cemetery in Kilgore, with Rev. David Hampton officiating.

Maebeth was born on March 1, 1928, in Gorman, TX to James Madison and Lillian Gallagher. She was an amazing cook, excellent seamstress and a homemaker. Her favorite color was purple and she loved angels. Maebeth founded and led Designer Originals women’s bible study group.

She wrote in her will “May there be rejoicing because I have been released from this world to spend eternity with the one I love most—my wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ, my loving heavenly father and the amazing Holy Spirit”.

Maebeth was reunited with her parents and her husband and sweetheart E.A. Avant.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elliscia Ellerd and husband John of Kilgore; son Matthew Grant (Jude) Avant and wife Debbie of Dallas; three grandchildren, Dash Williams and wife Jennifer of Gladewater, Colin Ian Avant of Dallas and Joan Michelle Avant of Dallas; great granddaughter Dylan Noel Williams of Gladewater; the Avant’s adopted families are the Mama Dolly Lollie Dubose family, Shannon and Chris Geddie family and Bonnie “Mama Kay” Kay as well as many other loving family members and friends. The Avant family would like to thank the staff of The Willows of Kilgore.
