Funeral services for Maggie Brown, 81, of Kilgore, will be held at 4 pm, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, with Rev. Wil Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 3pm until 4pm prior to the service. Maggie completed her earthly journey surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 4, 2021.

Maggie was born on December 20 ,1939, in Glasgow, MT, to Robert and Alice Murray. She married the love of her life, George Brown in January of 1955 George being an archaeologist afforded the family the ability to live in many different places. Maggie worked as a waitress for many years, in many different restaurants as the family changed locations. When they moved to Texas, she obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate and spent the next 26 years taking care of others. Maggie retired from Kilgore Manor, formerly Kilgore Nursing Center, after 26 years of faithful service. She was long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Kilgore. When Maggie was not working, she enjoyed crocheting, playing card games, and watching game shows. Her family was the source of her strength and spending time with them was when she was happiest.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Curtis Brown of Overton, Tonya Brown of Kilgore; grandchildren, Sydney Rodgers and her husband James of Overton, Stacy Robins, Blake Robins, Billie Kay Roe and her husband Joe all of Overton; great-grandchildren, Jacob Youngblood and his wife Crystal of Henderson, Kyle Youngblood and his wife Jessica of Longview, Kasey Shaw, Bentley Quinalty, Kaiven Quinalty, Rhowyn Rodgers, Roxy Mae Rodgers, Koy Burks, Kiera Robins all of Overton; siblings, Marie Mitchell and her husband Leon of Prairieville, LA, Bobbie Mucha of Fruitland Park, FL, James Murray and his wife Nicole of Bossier City, LA, Betty Mitchell and her husband Dennis of Greenwood, AR. Also, left to carry on her legacy are numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and other loving family members.

Maggie was reunited with her husband, her parents, daughter Terry Robins, granddaughter Shawn Scott and brother Johnny Murray.
