Private services for Martha Jacqueline Jacobs, 92 of Kilgore are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Jacobs passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 in Kilgore. Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
Martha, or Jackie as she was known, was born October 18, 1928 to the late Robert O. Deaton and Martha Belle Jacobs of Jackson, TN. Jackie was married to the late PO2 William Leigh Jacobs, Jr. USN(ret.), a 100% disabled American veteran, and for almost 40 years was his sole caregiver. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Berachah Church in Houston. A firm believer in Jesus Christ, Jackie was a loving, caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She loved singing, studying God’s Word, “Big Band” music of the 1940’s and dark chocolate. Jackie was a 46 year resident of Texas having lived in both Pleasanton and Kilgore.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill; sister Betty Talley of New Orleans, LA; and, stepbrother Lt Col William E. Davis, Jr. USAF(ret.) of Hilton Head, SC. She is survived by her son, CDR J. Michael Jacobs USCG(ret.) and wife Robin of Longview, TX; brother, James A. Davis and wife Doris of Paris, TN; grandsons, Christopher Jacobs and wife Angela, and Bryan Jacobs and wife Samara; great grandchildren, Emma Jacobs and Piper Jacobs; niece Rebecca Davis Griffey; and, nephews Tim Talley, Mark Talley and Brian Davis.
She will be missed.
