Michael Franklin Mcalexander

August 21, 1953 — December 22, 2023

Michael Franklin McAlexander, better known to friends and family as “Mike”, 70, of White Oak completed his earthly journey on December 22, 2023, in Kilgore, Texas. A visitation will be held Wednesday December 27, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00 in the evening at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. A graveside service will be held at Danville Cemetery on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 2:00 in the afternoon.

Mike was born August 21, 1953, in Kilgore, Texas to William F. McAlexander and Rosemary Leach McAlexander. He grew up in White Oak, met the love of his life, Vickie Modisette, in fourth grade. The two found their soul mate and best friend in one another. Together for 50 years, they made the most of their time. Everything they did together, they enjoyed. Mike’s favorite pastime was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and playing pool. Together, Mike and Vickie enjoyed their time spent vacationing, fishing and swimming. Mike was a proud 1972 graduate of White Oak High School where he spent his time participating in all athletic activities. Mike, often referred to as “Doc” by his co-workers and close friends retired from Swepco after 38 years of service as a lineman before he and Vickie enjoyed ten beautiful years of retirement together. Mike had an artistic mind, which he used to build all sorts of unique and large woodworking projects. Incredible things like dragons, dinosaurs, zip lines, and swings that he placed all over his 13 wooded acres. The neighborhood children delighted in exploring these fantastic discoveries. He also spent a tremendous amount of his retirement building unique minibikes for all to enjoy. He was an incredible man, loving husband, brother, uncle, son and friend. He is dearly loved and is desperately missed; the world is a little darker without him in it.

In passing, Mike was reunited with his parents, William and Rosemary, and brother-in-law Larry Smith. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Vickie McAlexander, sister Terri Smith, brother Mark McAlexander, Neice Carmon Davis; nephews Derek (Kristen) Ramsey and Mason McAlexander and brother-in-law Charles Modisette along with many other loving family members and friends. He impacted all he knew with his larger-than-life personality. Each of his loving family and friends will miss him until they are united once more.
