Mike York

Private graveside services for Mike York, 57 of Kilgore will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Garden of Memories Memorial Park Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas with Mr. Bob Everett officiating. Mr. York will be in state for people to sign the book and pay their respects from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore.
John Michael York was born on December 19, 1962 and left this world just minutes before the day he came into it on December 18, 2020 Longview, Texas. Big Mike, as he was known to many, was born and raised in Lufkin, Tx. He graduated from Lufkin High School in 1981. After working at Lufkin industries for many years and adding a son, Seth, Mike left the area to move to Kilgore, Tx and along came his daughter, Ann. In 2004, he received his degree at Kilgore college which landed him his job at JW where he made his way to shop supervisor. He made lifelong friends, relationships, and family here. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and his best buddy Aiden, family/friends and the last 8 1/2 months he spent enjoying precious time with his first grandchild. Many will miss his sharp wit and easy going personality. He was a big teddy bear with the best heart for others. He was a true friend and had many that turned into family. Everyone who were to meet him, loved him.

Mike is survived by his life partner Bobbie Nix of Kilgore and his best bud Aiden Nix of Kilgore; father James York; son Seth York of Austin, Tx; daughter Ann Elise Bednarz and son in law Payton of Lubbock , grandson Beckham Bednarz of Lubbock, Tx; Sister Melanie York Hartsfield, brother James and wife Nancy, brother Carl and wife Sandy; and former wife Terri York along with many much loved aunts, uncles, nieces , nephews cousins and friends. .
