Mrs. Helen Holt Mayfield

Graveside services for Mrs. Helen Holt Mayfield will be held on February 2, 2024, at two o’clock in the afternoon at Danville Cemetery with Pastor Kenneth Antley officiating. A visitation will be held from six until eight o’clock in the afternoon, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Mayfield completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at her home in Longview surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born on January 15, 1933, in Paducah, Texas to Lola Ellen (Weatheread) Holt and Howard Adolph Holt. She married the love of her life Milton “M.G.” on November 3, 1948. They shared sixty-four years of marriage and two daughters together. The two spent much of their time traveling due to Mr. Mayfield’s career in the construction and oilfield industry. Helen was extremely strong within her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She a member of numerous churches throughout the East Texas area before joining New Horizon Church of God. Helen adored her fellow Brother and Sisters in the Lord. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sharon Pierce of Longview, grandchildren Wesley Pierce, Catrina James and husband Kevin, Wendell Dean Baker and wife Misty, and Lisa Cross and husband Jeff, eighteen great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren and numerous other loving friends and family members.

Helen was reunited with her parents Lola Ellen Holt and Howard Adolph Holt, husband Milton “M.G.” Mayfield, daughter Patrica Baker, sister Lanell Strickland and grandsons Kevin Pierce, Sr., Jacob Baker and Kaydince Baker.
