Mrs. Louise Hines Heard

July 6, 1943 — November 9, 2023

Graveside services for Mrs. Louise Hines Heard, 80 of Longview, were held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at ten o’clock in the morning at Elderville Cemetery. Louise completed her earthly journey on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in Longview surrounded by her loving family.

Louise was born on July 6, 1943, in Bethany, Louisiana to Maggie Lillian Chipman and Melville Tollie Hines, Sr. She graduated from Buras High School in Louisiana and was a cheerleader all four years. A forever cheerleader as her family would say. Louise continued her education in Longview, Texas and obtained her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree. She married the love of her life Stevens Ray Heard on October 29, 1984. They shared thirty-nine joyful years of marriage, countless memories, and floor parties. Louise was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game. She adored butterflies. She even collected porcelain butterflies she displayed in her home. Louise was an animal lover to say the least. Stevens and Louise owned and operated an exotic bird rescue for numerous years named Heard’s Birds. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Stevens Ray Heard of Longview, two daughters who remained faithful and true Leslie and Cary Wood of Tyler and Christen and Rudy Stephens of Longview, grandmother to many, Me-Momma to four, Kelsey Wood of Jacksonville, Austin Lopez of White Oak, Taylor Stephens of Longview and Maggie Stephens of Longview and her fur-babies Gunner, Delilah, and Harley.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Lillian and Tollie, brother Butch Hines and stepfather Sarge Pinkard.
