Cremation arrangements for Nancy Carol Timmons, 88 of Kilgore are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at ten-thirty in the morning at Kilgore Bible Church with Pastor Barry Metz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Kilgore Bible Church. Mrs. Timmons went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at her home in Kilgore surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born on October 4, 1934, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Maxwell Otto Prewitt and Lela Marie Cross. After graduating from High School, she married the love of her life Harold Wayne Timmons. Harold worked as a National Park Ranger and served in seven locations around the southwest, beginning with Mesa Verde, Colorado and ending in Chaco Canyon, New Mexico. Nancy loved all the traveling adventures and being outdoors. They shared three children and fifty-three joyful years of marriage together. Nancy was a devoted Christian and loved and served the Lord all her life. She was a member of Kilgore Bible Church for ten years. Nancy adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and invested into each of their lives. She touched many peoples’ lives through her love of the Lord and kindness. Nancy was a people person and had numerous friends. She was a caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Peggy Jean Arendsee and husband Doug of Midlothian, TX, and Terri Sue Colvin and husband Charley of Kilgore; son Ted Allen Timmons and wife Debbie of Grand Rapids, MI; sisters Dot Overstreet (Chuck) of Stillwater, OK, and Jeanne Schroeder and husband Dan Schroeder of Stillwater, OK; brother Charles Prewitt (Martha) of San Antonio; grandchildren Maize Arendsee (Moco), Misty Larson (Tyler), Zach Arendsee and (Alhanna), Zeb Arendsee (Fawn), Morning Fitzgerald (Brandon), Dayspring Goforth (Robbie), Kim Willis (Nolan), Katie Webb (T.J.), Kristi Holman (Brandon), Jacob Timmons (Emm), and Will Timmons; twenty-five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Wayne Timmons, brothers Richard Allen Prewitt, and Bob Prewitt.
