Nova "Nadine" Norton Adamson

Mrs. Nova “Nadine” Norton Adamson, 86 of Kilgore passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in Longview. Nadine was born October 21, 1937, in Kilgore, Texas to Ben Norton and Mamie Cornelius Norton. A proud lifelong Kilgore resident, Nadine graduated from Kilgore High School in 1955, continued her education at Kilgore College, then went on to Penny Nichols School of Fine Arts, Vivian Osteen School of Fine Arts, Texas A&M School of Floral Design, and the Bob Thomas School of Design in Florida.

Nadine met and married the love of her life, John Adamson in 1955. She was an active and devoted mother, and she dedicated many years of service to the PTA as an officer and President. The family were charter members of Trinity Assembly of God in Kilgore, and Nadine was a dedicated pianist and organist there for over 40 years. As an accomplished artist, she painted the baptistry mural as a labor of love for Trinity Assembly of God. She followed her passions and enjoyed her life to its fullest. Her happiest memories were spent with family, and the adventures she and John enjoyed together in their travels.

Nadine was not only committed to God and family, but she was also a member of many organizations including; the Evergreen Garden Club, Kilgore Women’s Club, the Judges Council of Tyler/Palestine Chapter, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She served on the board of the Roy H. Laird Country Club for several terms, she was a credentialed National Flower Show Judge, and presented educational programs for floral design.

As dedicated as she was to her children, she was every bit as dedicated to her grandchildren, supporting each of them in their own unique activities and aspirations.

Left to cherish her memory are her son; Eddie Adamson (Brenda), daughter Denise Adamson Bailey (Greg) grandchildren; Allison Adamson Miller (Austin), Josh Bailey (Lauren), Zack Bailey (Kelsey), Emily Adamson Carroll and husband (Patrick).

In passing, Nadine was reunited with her beloved husband of 61 years, John; her parents, Ben and Mamie Norton, and special aunts, Ruth Jowers, Beulah Corenelius Burrus, and many other adored friends and family members.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, from five until seven o’clock in the evening. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 3, at ten o'clock in the morning. All services will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Interment will immediately follow at Danville Cemetery.
