Patricia Maxine Maloney Brown

Graveside services for Patricia Maxine Maloney Brown, 91 of Gladewater will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Hickory Grove Cemetery with Chaplain Carol Gilbert officiating under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mrs. Brown passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Gladewater.

Patricia was born on February 8, 1932 in Gladewater, Texas, to the late John T. Maloney and Geneva Holt. Her early schooling was at White Oak School, while she was in sixth grade her father was transferred to the Leverett’s Chapel area and she attended school there until she graduated in 1949. During her senior year she was voted favorite “Senior Girl” and her future husband would be voted favorite “Senior Boy”. She played the clarinet in the band for 6 years and upon graduating she received a music scholarship to Kilgore College. Patricia played in the College Band for two years and received an Associates of Arts Degree and was voted one of the “College Beauties”. Patricia was an accomplished pianist and entered the National Piano Playing auditions in Dallas for several years. She was blessed with many talents and enjoyed music, art, cooking and spoiling her animals. Mrs. Brown was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Ray Brown; brothers, L.V. Maloney and Victor Maloney.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Steve R. Brown and wife Janet of Gladewater, Stuart Brown and wife Cynthia of Houston and Scott Brown of Tyler; grandchildren, Sharon Henry, Monnica Brown Smith, Jessica Brown, Molly Brown, Henley Brown and Shelby Brown; five great grandchildren as well as numerous other loving family members.
