Pete Bounds

Memorial services are set for Pete Bounds, 87, of Kilgore on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at 10 A.M. at the Chandler Street Church of Christ with Mr. Chris Vidacovich officiating. Pete passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020, in Kingwood, Texas

Pete Marion Bounds was born on August 17, 1932, in Childress County, Texas to Frank and Mahota Rothwell Bounds. He attended school at Carey, Tell and Childress, Texas. Pete joined the U.S. Navy in 1950, at age 17. He retired in 1970 with many commendations and citations. He then furthered his education at Richland Community College and North Texas State University in 1975. Along the way, he met the love of his life, Betty Joan Huffstutter. They married in January of 1960, and he enjoyed her for 54 years until her death in March of 2014. Pete and Betty were lifelong members of the Church of Christ.

Pete is survived by a daughter, Alisa Wade and husband Tony of Kingwood, Texas; son, Paul Bounds of Kilgore. Also surviving Pete are grandsons, Kiefer Bounds, and wife Cody of Kilgore, and Steven Bounds of Kilgore, and Jack M. Wade of Kingwood; granddaughters, Kendra Bounds, Becky Bounds both of Kilgore, and Madison Underwood of Kingwood; great-grandsons, Hunter Bounds, Colton Bounds, and Michael Bounds. He loved and cherished them all. Pete will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and church family.
