Gladewater

Ramie Bowman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, at the age of 78 in Jefferson, Texas. Born on July 21, 1946, in Bonham, Texas, Ramie lived a life marked by kindness, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.

As a devoted family man, Ramie found his greatest joy in the company of his wife, Marolyn, whom he married on May 20, 1970, in Haynesville, Louisiana. Together, they built a loving home that was a refuge of support and warmth. Ramie's pride in his family was evident to all, and he cherished the moments spent with his children: Randy (Lori) Bowman, Raymond (Kristi) Bowman, and Jennifer Bowman. As a grandfather, he was a source of laughter and wisdom for his grandchildren; Morgan, Kylee, Kendall, Laken, Haley, and Brittney, along with his great-grandchildren, Tru and Journi, who brought him immense joy.

Ramie's career as a Drill Press Operator showcased his hardworking nature. He put his heart into every task, embodying the values of dedication and perseverance. His commitment extended beyond his work and into his community, where he generously volunteered his time by coaching and umpiring girls' softball for many years. His kindness and willingness to help everyone around him left a lasting impression on those he encountered.

In addition to his role as a family man and community member, Ramie proudly served as a Vietnam Veteran in the Army, dedicating his life to protecting the freedoms we hold dear. His bravery served as an inspiration, and it was a reflection of the depth of his character.

Ramie had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing whenever he could. These pursuits brought him peace, allowing him to connect with nature and create cherished memories with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marolyn, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings Betty Schenck and Howard Bowman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Ramie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lottie Bowman, and ten siblings. Their memories will be honored as his legacy continues through his family.

A memorial service to celebrate Ramie's life will be held on March 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Texas with visitation one hour prior. Friends and family are invited to gather and share stories of a man who touched so many lives with his generosity and love.
