Richard D. Baker

Cremation arrangements for Richard D. Baker, 90, of Kilgore, are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore. Mr. Baker completed his earthly journey on October 15, 2022.


Richard was born on October 2, 1932, in Clayton, Michigan to Grace Lord and Emmor Miles Baker. He honorably served his country in the United States Armed Forces for four years. After he graduated from Michigan State University with his Bachelors degree. Richard married the love of his life Norma Jean Harden Baker on June 28, 1952. Together they shared many joyful memories, three children, and seventy years of marriage. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and teaching his children how to do both. Richard worked for American Airlines as a pilot until 1988 when he retired. After his retirement he and Norma spent countless hours on the road sight-seeing in their motorhome. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends.


Left to cherish his memory are his wife Norma Jean Baker of Kilgore, children, Linda Baker of Nashville, Indiana, Norman R. Baker and wife Peggy Baker of Eolia, Missouri, Pamela J. Nolte, and husband Dino Nolte of Fort Worth, sister Elanie Alcock of Rochester, Minnesota and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and other loving family members.


He was reunited with his parents.
