Ruby Ellen Wood

Services for Ellen Wood, 75 of Kilgore will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore with Rev. Mark Fried officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, one hour prior to service. Ellen passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Ellen was born May 5, 1947, in Kilgore, Texas to the late Early Bertus Brightwell and Ruth Laverne Shivers. Mrs. Wood retired from Verizon and was a member of Forest Home Baptist Church. Ellen enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, bird watching, painting and spending time with her family. She was loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all that knew her.

Ellen was proceeded in death by her parents and husband, Clinton Wood and brothers, Wilton Brightwell and Bertus Brightwell.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Jana Keel(Brady) of Kilgore; son, Ricky Edney(Sherry) of Kilgore; sisters, Elaine Woodmansee of Kilgore, Martha Reid of Kilgore and Rebecca Still of Kilgore; brothers, James Brightwell of Hallsville and Melvin Brightwell of Henderson; grandchildren, Cameron Keel, Collier Keel, Tyler Edney, Shelby Harper(Jeremy) and Brandon Sanford(Garnet); great grandchildren, Aubree Edney, Ava Edney, Ezra Edney, Daffnie Harper and Aiden Harper and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
