Sandra Nell Goodwin

Sandra Nell Goodwin, 73, of Kilgore was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 30, 2024, in Longview, Texas surrounded by her beloved family. A visitation will be held at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore on Friday August 2, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and a Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 3 at 2:00 pm at Crim's Chapel Cemetery in Henderson. 

 Sandra was born August 14, 1950, in Tyler, Texas to Burl and Yvonne Goodwin. She graduated from Sabine High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University, graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics. She had a 30+ year career at Eastman Chemical as a Senior Lab Analyst until her retirement. After retirement, Sandra enjoyed volunteering for Sabine Fire and Rescue where she monitored radio communications during calls and maintained records. Sandra thrived in the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping and hunting as well as all kinds of sports. She enthusiastically rooted for her favorite teams the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. She is remembered by her loved ones as a fabulous cook who enjoyed creating special dishes for loved ones and sharing her knowledge with those who called for cooking advice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and one nephew. She is survived by her sister Dianne (Goodwin) and Travis Phillips; her sister-in-law Virginia Goodwin; nieces and their families; Cheryl (Goodwin) and Jeff Thomas, Stephanie (Phillips) and Spencer Brown, and Cathy (Goodwin) and Joe Berg; and numerous other family and friends. Sandra is deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
